THE TEMPERATURE The temperature is generally around 70- 90 degrees year round. The summer months can be warmer with lots of sun. The dress is casual, with shorts and swim suits accepted at most restaurants. Some restaurants even offer a swim and a cocktail such as Cocodimama (you can use their water sports equipment too), and the Cove (they have a fresh water pool).
Currency US or Bahamian currency is accepted. The rate of exchange is the same. Travelers Checks are also accepted, although a fee is usually charged for cashing them (around .50). Most restaurants do not accept visa/mc. Also, don't forget there is a $15.00 departure tax due when leaving the Bahamas.
ID A Pass Port is now required.
Other suggestions for packing Take half the clothes and twice the cash. Lots of sunscreen. Bug repellent. Most things are available, but may be costly and/or hard to find. Therefore, you may want to take along anything you can't live without. We do suggest taking a few garbage bags, as we do supply an initial supply of basic household amenities, but take away and beverage containers can pile up.
